Holiday-Ready Carpets: How Far Ahead to Book Before Guests Arrive
Every year it happens the same way: the guest list is set, the menu is planned — and then you look down at the living room carpet. Traffic lanes, a couple of mystery spots, and a general dullness that vacuuming stopped fixing months ago. Carpet cleaning is one of the fastest ways to make the whole house feel ready for company, but November and December are our busiest weeks of the year. Here’s how to time it so you’re not scrambling.
How far ahead should you book?
Our honest advice: book 3 to 4 weeks before your guests arrive. For Thanksgiving, that means getting on the schedule by late October or early November. For Christmas and New Year’s, booking in late November or the first days of December keeps you ahead of the rush. Two weeks out, we can often still find you a spot — but the choice of days and times narrows fast. The week of the holiday itself is usually fully booked, and we’d rather tell you that plainly now than have you find out later. Booking early also gives you a buffer: if a spill happens the week of the party (it happens), a recently cleaned and protected carpet is far more forgiving.
Which rooms actually matter?
You don’t have to clean the whole house. For holiday hosting, most of our customers prioritize:
- The living room or family room — where everyone will actually gather
- The dining room — before the big meal, not after
- The entryway and hallway — the first impression, and the path every guest walks
- The guest bedroom — if anyone is staying over

Our holiday packages (per room/area, up to 150 sq ft)
- Basic Clean (Essentials) — $60/room. Pre-inspection, pre-treatment of traffic areas and stains, and hot water extraction (steam cleaning). A solid refresh for carpets that are mostly in good shape.
- Premium Clean (Restore & Refresh) — $75/room. Everything in Basic, plus high-powered vacuuming, fiber agitation to loosen embedded dirt, targeted spot treatment, and a pH-neutralizing rinse so carpets re-soil slower and feel softer. Our most popular choice before guests — ideal for homes with children, pets, or heavy foot traffic.
- VIP Clean (Ultimate Care & Protection) — $100/room. Everything in Premium, plus advanced carpet protector, signature deodorizer treatment, a pet treatment option, and dual dry-pass extraction for faster drying. The one to pick if the house has to be at its best.
Two add-ons worth considering before a houseful of guests: Pet Pro Fresh topical pet treatment, $75/room, which breaks down urine stains and odors at the source — worth it if the dog’s favorite spot is anywhere near the guest area. And Max Guard Shield fiber protection, $35/room, an invisible shield against stains and spills. Adding protection before the holidays means the inevitable gravy or wine spill during them is much easier to deal with. You can mix and match packages and add-ons room by room in our online booking.
Getting ready for your appointment
A little prep makes the visit go smoothly: give the carpets a good vacuum the day before, move small and fragile items off the floors we’re cleaning, note any spots you want us to look at, and have a plan for pets while we work. After cleaning, let the carpet dry fully before moving furniture back and resuming normal foot traffic — we’ll give you a realistic dry-time expectation for your home before we leave.
The short version
Pick your date backwards from your guests: holiday, minus a few days for comfort, minus the rush — and that’s your booking window, which for most people lands 3 to 4 weeks out. Then it’s handled, and the carpet is one less thing on the holiday list.
